Students’ Union
In Koivuharju unit Students’ Union began to work in the school year 2007-2008. The aim of these activities is to improve pupils’ chances to make themselves heard in making decisions and carrying them out when it is a question of common interests. These activities aim at encouraging pupils to do things for their common good.
The Students’ Union consists of all the pupils studying in Koivuharju unit. Every year one boy and one girl representative from each class will be elected to the government of Students’ Union and this government is in power for one school year at a time. The government makes plans how to organize the activities in the union Its members convey to the government their own classmates’ thoughts and wishes of developing the school. In the school year 2009-2010 the following pupils form the government of Students’ Union: Niclas Bergvall (class 1), Ella Posti (class 1), Tommi Eskonniemi ( class 2), Milla Iso-Koivisto (class 2), Atte Niskakoski (class 3), Unna Kulju (class 3, secretary), Lassi Harju (class 4) and Miina Heikkilä (class 4, chairman).
One teacher will be elected for a school year at a time to guide the activities of Students’ Union. In the school year 2009-2010 Janne Mäkelä holds a post as a union coordinator.
