Parent Teacher Association (PTA)

There is an active Parent Teacher Association in Koivuharju unit. Its activities are based on the regular meetings of parents and the decisions (made at those meetings) on organizing various extra-curricular events (e.g. party events, sports, trips, fundraising).

All the parents of Koivuharju school children are invited to the meetings of Parent Teacher Association. The regular members of the meeting are a chairman, a secretary and a teacher who all will be elected for one school year at a time. In addition to these members a small group of active parents participate in the meetings. But usually almost all the parents of our school will take part in our common events and happenings arranged by Parent Teacher Association. In the school year 2009-2010 the following people have been nominated to the regular posts of the PTA: the chairman Sanna Salonpää, the secretary Kirsi Heikkinen and the teacher member Matti Juopperi.

The Parent Teacher Association has a very important role in promoting the cooperation between school and home and providing the school with a greater range of equipment and experiences than would be normally possible.
